Steel is a common casting material. It is an alloy consisting of iron and carbon element less than 2%. To achieve excellent mechanical properties, certain chemical elements like silicon, manganese, sulfur and phosphorus are often added in it in a small amount. So products made in steel casting have great mechanical properties. Steel castings are mostly used when iron castings are not available for excellent strength or wear resistance.

Steel Casting Materials
There are three main categories of steel casting materials: stainless steel, alloy steel and carbon steel.
Stainless steel is an alloy with a minimum of 10.5% chromium content by mass. Because of its high corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and its famous aesthetic appearance, stainless steel is commonly used in food machinery, medical and oilfield industry. The common stainless steels in our company are SS304, SS316, PH17-4 and 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel.
Alloy steel has mechanical properties of high strength, high toughness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, which makes it perfect for casting wear parts for mining and construction industry. The common alloy steels we have used are 42CrMo, 35CrMo, 40CrNiMo, 4130, 4140, 8630, etc.
Carbon steel is mostly used for castings that will meet strong stress demand. According to their carbon content, carbon steel is divided into three types, low-carbon steel (WC≤0.20%), middle-carbon steel (WC 0.20%-0.50%) and high-carbon steel (WC>0.5-%). The higher the carbon content is, the higher the hardness and strength will be. The common carbon steels we have used are AISI 1010, AISI 1020, AISI 1035, AISI 1045, AISI 1060, etc. We can also pour other melt steels upon your request.
